President’s Letter – January 2016
Welcome to 2016,
Happy New Year Holbrook and let me start by wishing you all a very healthy 2016 as well. My Dad Nick (who still resides in Holbrook) always says…”Health is Wealth” and frankly no truer phrase have I ever heard.
Congratulations to the Holbrook community for being voted in a small poll Newsday ran last month as being one of the Top 20 communities (#19) to live in on Long Island. All of our residents should feel very proud of the town as they are the primary reason for this acknowledgment. I like to think that the collective efforts of many of the individual community civic groups also played a major part in making Holbrook the desired little hamlet it has become.
I am hopeful given this public recognition it will increase property values even more which in turn provides a dividend for all of the hard work of those Homeowner’s groups like New England Village, Parkland, Woodgate Village, The Colony, Somerset and Birchwood Estates to name a few. Congratulations neighbors you make us all proud.
The Sachem school district and Holbrook Fire Department have also been a great resource and benefit to the community through all of their services
Humbly, may I submit the hard work of the Chamber also played a part as well. A strong business community with a nice mix of services surely adds to the fabric of any community. Many of the business district’s infrastructure repairs and improvements have been initiated and maintained by the Chamber. Additionally, the Chamber over the years has played an integral part in establishing a strong relationship with our local governing bodies to ensure we always receive our fair share of municipal benefits.
This type of good news is a great way to kick-off the New Year!!!
Once Again, Congratulations Holbrook even though most of us have always known this place is tops when it comes to the people who collectively made it the community what it is today.
All the Best always,
Rick Ammirati, President
Holbrook Chamber of Commerce
