President’s Letter – August 2021

Greetings of the Summer,

The heat truly is on and hopefully, everyone is keeping cool with the beach, pool, and all the other modern-day cooling conveniences.

As I’ve written for over the past 20 plus years, it’s hard to beat the summers on Long Island. Well, maybe on Maui..but let’s be realistic…Long Island summers are wonderful, we pay for it however living here is a blessing spring thru fall.
First and foremost, the chamber is pleased to announce our annual carnival is back this month! August 26-29 over at the Holbrook Country Club. Check out for more details. We will have rides, games, food & fun for all.

Don’t miss our spectacular fireworks show on Sat. the 28th. We look forward to seeing everyone and it’s a great opportunity to support the chamber as the net proceeds go towards the maintenance and beautification of the business community.

The chamber continues to monitor and foster our Main St. and Union Avenue sewer project as it continues its path through the Federal and State channels. A lot is going on behind the scenes to bring this to fruition with a shovel-ready target of 2023 which is not that far down the road.

In the interim, the chamber will be working closely this fall with all of the local municipalities to get some of our roads repaired and or repaved within the Main St. Business District. Additionally, we hope to commence with a State Grant and beautify a key corner property within the town.

Stay tuned, more to report in September including some new developments on the south side of the Ronkonkoma Hub just west of Holbrook.

Thank you to those of you who take the time to read these columns every month. Please know the chamber is working hard to keep the business community viable and heading in the right direction. We’ll get there it just takes a little more patience and time. Holbrook is on the right track and poised for a bright future.

Attention Holbrook Business Owners, if you’re not a member of the chamber? It’s time to join and be a part of the solution on what’s good for the entire community! Check out our website for info on future meetings and membership info. 631-471-2725 is our number if you need to call us.

In closing, we look forward to seeing you and your family at the carnival come the end of this month.

Stay Cool!
All the Best Always,
Rick Ammirati
Holbrook Chamber
