Greetings Once Again,
Welcome officially to the fall season. As you travel around the region the turn of foliage is absolutely stunning. Apple & pumpkin picking is in full swing out east and if you have the chance please head out to our local farms as they could really use your support.
Speaking of support, the chamber cannot thank the members who sponsored our carnival in late August enough. Without their contributions, we would not have had the ability to host what turned out to be a fun and very successful event. A special thank you to Holbrook MTA Auto Repair for their generous fireworks & entertainment sponsorship. Another huge thank you to Legislator Anthony Piccirillo and the Suffolk County Legislature for their tremendous support of the carnival. Dime Bank on Vets Hwy. in Ronkonkoma also provided a significant sponsorship.
To Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, DPW Commissioner Tom Owens and the entire Town of Islip Board, we cannot thank you enough for providing the accommodations and opportunity for our community to enjoy four great days of fun and entertainment at the Holbrook Country Club. The chamber is truly touched by everyone who came out and contributed this year. We know it hasn’t been easy on everyone the past 18 plus months and we are forever grateful to all who were there for us this year.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Legislator Piccirillo, the County Legislature and County Executive Steve Bellone’s Office, the Holbrook Business District sewer project is now within the county fiscal budget. The planning & design work will commence in 2022 and construction will be “shovel ready” for late 2023 early 2024. More information will be forthcoming as plans unfold. This is great news and the culmination of many years of hard work and follow-up by all parties involved.
In closing, please continue to support all of our local chamber businesses. If you’re choosing a place to cater or dine with, banking, real estate, accounting or any other service, please visit Holbrookchamber.com and click on the Holbrook Business Directory link. We really need to first consider utilizing the goods & services of those businesses that are a part of and support the chamber. Collectively, our members share a vision and support the mission in improving and growing both the quality of life and commerce of the Holbrook business community.
A Safe and Spooktacular Halloween to all,
-Rick Ammirati
