Holbrook Beautification

Community Development

Since 2000, the Chamber has met numerous times with local public officials to secure municipal funding for a variety of capital projects. Due to the size and scope of these projects some projects take years to achieve completion.

The Chamber works with all levels of government as well as commercial property owners to improve the infrastructure and appearance of our community.

Over the past several years, the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce has been working with our County Legislator William Lindsay to improve the appearance of the northern entrance to our community. The area along the western side of County Route 19, just south of the expressway, had no sidewalks and was overgrown and chronically littered. We look forward to fully completing our “North Gateway” project.

Here are some projects the Holbrook Chamber has been involved in:

  • Located on the north entrance to Holbrook, the “Welcome to Holbrook” sign and garden provide a warm and inviting entrance to our town.
  • This empty parcel on CR 19 and the north end of Main Street (near 7-11) was landscaped and maintained by the Holbrook Chamber.
  • The center median of County Route 19 was often overgrown and not maintained. Through the intervention of the Chamber, it has been renovated with attractive, low-maintenance landscaping.
